A-stöðin – A Strong Tradition of Reliable Service
The station quickly became a vital part of the community – not only operating as a taxi hub, but also running a shop, gas station, service garage, car wash, and even a branch at Keflavík Airport. At its peak, up to 50 cars operated under the Aðalstöðin name.
A-Stöðin was established on May 1, 2007, by former drivers of Aðalbílar in Keflavík and Bifreiðastöð Hafnarfjarðar. Today, the company is owned by 33 drivers – most of whom still drive for A-Stöðin – and is built on a strong foundation of experience and trust. Although the name and times have changed, many of our drivers trace their roots back to 1948, and that legacy continues in the service we provide today.
